The Wegovy® tablet is a once-daily GLP-1 analogue oral treatment designed to support weight management that fits easily into everyday life if you’re living with obesity or are overweight*1 It’s the only GLP-1 tablet currently available for weight loss.
Clear, upfront pricing with no hidden fees. Choose the treatment plan that suits you, and your prescriber will confirm what’s right for you after your consultation.
The Wegovy® once-daily tablet contains the same active ingredient as the Wegovy® pen injection; the GLP-1 analogue semaglutide, so it works the same way as the injection form of Wegovy®.
Your brain gets signals from different places in your body to make things happen. Some of these signals are called appetite hormones, like GLP-1. GLP-1 is released after eating and slows down how quickly food is digested and Wegovy® tablet mimics its action to trick your body into thinking it’s fuller than it is. This reduces your appetite helping you to regulate the food you eat, consume fewer calories and consequently lose weight.
You may notice more side effects when you start a new higher dose. You can expect to see the full effect of the treatment once you reach the maintenance dose of 25mg
It’s possible to swap from using the pen to taking the tablets. You can start taking the tablets one week after your last Wegovy® injection.
When you wake up, just take your daily Wegovy® pill with a sip of water (up to 120 mL). It’s important that you take it on an empty stomach after a fasting period of at least 8 hours. Swallow it whole – don’t split, crush, dissolve or chew the Wegovy® pill as this might affect how well you absorb it.1
You can start eating, drinking, and taking other oral medication 30 minutes after taking the Wegovy® pill. Waiting at least 30 minutes makes sure that you absorb your Wegovy® pill properly.1
If you miss a dose, skip that day’s dose and get back on track by taking the scheduled dose the next day.
Only increase your dose when you doctor advises you to. Gradually increasing your dose over time is done to help your body get used to the medicine. Before taking your next dose, let your healthcare professional know if you have any side effects that bother you or do not go away.
